A Garden of Healing has more than just plants and walkways in it. My Garden is blessed with abundant growth of many healing plants; space for play, laughter, just sitting and watching the shadows move, and much more.
Sometimes the best healer is not medicines, herbs or even time. There are times when laughter is truly the best medicine.
With that firmly in my splintered psyche, I shall begin the tours of my garden with a good dose of silliness, thanks to my beloved cats, Pye and Skye.
To truly understand the pictures below, they need some background. My whole family are learning junkies; we love to read, and watch documentaries, and talk about what we’ve seen or read.
An especial favourite of Mum’s is forensic medicine (just like the TV programme C.S.I.). One day, whilst junketing, Mum found herself a new tote bag for work. It has a broad yellow stripe across the top, and the words ‘Crime Scene Do Not Cross’.
Our cat Pye, has an overwhelming fascination for boxes and bags of every size. It has grown so deep that the coffee table in our living room is covered by two lettuce boxes, draped over with a woollen blanket, they are known as “The Kitty Duplex”, and both of the cats sleep on or in it.
When Mum brought her Crime Scene tote bag home, Pye immediately hopped up to inspect it. I had my handy-dandy digital camera close by and I snapped some shots of him by the bag.
I downloaded the pictures to my weary old computer and they were delightful! I immediately knew what they should be titled, and here they are:
Inspector Clawseau:
Scanning the crowd for possible suspects.
Mlle. La Chatte:
Interpol’s finest profiler.
Considering the crime scene.
The victim was so battered that even Mlle. La Chatte was forced to look away!

Love the kitties - so sweet. I bet they make life an adventure all on their own.

Love your post and your pictures. I am totally a cat person… they are such special creatures. A kitty duplex… what a great idea.

Gwen, this is such fun. I think a fascination for bags and boxes must be built into cat genes, mine were always fascinated by them too.
